If you're only looking for a short term Summer job our advice is to book a cheap package holiday at the beginning of the season (late April) and use the time to seriously look for work and accommodation. If you're successful you can stay, if not, at least you'll have your flight home to fall back on!

Most of this kind of employment will be in bars or restaurants. To get the best jobs it's always handy if you've got previous experience and extra language skills are also helpful though certainly not essential.

It's advisable to have enough savings when you arrive to support yourself for several weeks as you'll need to pay the deposit and rent for your accommodation (usually about 2 months rent up front) often before you have started your new job.

Whether it's short term or permanent employment the old adage "it's not what you know, but who you know" definitely applies here. Networking pays off so get out there and don't be afraid to introduce yourself to the locals.
