TOURIST INFORMATION

Postal Service

The postage cost to send a standard letter or postcard to the UK or Ireland is 58 centimos. Stamps can be bought from tobacconists and the Post Office (Correos). You may also be able to buy stamps from the shop where you purchase your postcards, but you will have to ask for them. Stamps for the official national postal service carry the words “Correos España”. You can’t miss the post boxes...they are bright yellow. There are two slots for your post, one is for internal Spanish mail and the other is for overseas mail. The one marked ‘Extranjero’ is the one you will need.

Post Box

The main Post Office (next to the RC Church) is open all year Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 8.30pm and on Saturdays 9.30am to 1pm.

Some outlets are offering a separate privatised postal service (eg TNT). Stamps bought at these outlets can only be used in the box provided at the shop where they were bought and not in the official yellow boxes in the street.

Sometimes your holiday representative will offer to take cards for posting at the airport
